Monday 14th October 2024 was a good day for us, and an even better evening!

We sponsored the reception of the annual Insight in Fundraising Conference and were the headline sponsor for their awards ceremony afterwards. The theme this year was ‘Data to Decisions – Creating Impact through Insight’ which, as you can imagine, is exactly our kind of thing!

During the day we attended loads of amazing talks and gave some too. Come the evening, as headline sponsor of the awards, our Marc Dallimore gave an opening speech to kick off the evening’s celebrations. He talked about fundraising being a calling, with the evening’s nominees and winners all demonstrating exceptional skills and dedication. He emphasised the importance of creativity, determination and collaboration in facing challenges and achieving great things within the charity sector. And he talked about how Wood for Trees, as a sponsor and CRM specialist, is proud to support the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

Sponsored awards

We were really honoured to be asked to present some awards as part of our sponsorship during the evening with our Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Naomi Hurst, handing out the Team of the Year award to Marie Curie‘s insight and fundraising team. Marc awarded Smart Works Charity the Most Powerful Insight Using Research accolade for their Smart Works Unemployment Index. And our Consultant Analyst, Rob Dyer, handed out a very well-deserved Rising Star trophy to Erin Freeman for her work with Alzheimer’s Society. Rob also attended Erin’s talk during the conference earlier in the day – read about it here.

Award wins

We’re also absolutely thrilled to say that we won two awards ourselves! We won in the Most Powerful Insight Using Data Analysis category with our work to understand the power of retail for Cat’s Protection, alongside The Nursery. We also won the Most Powerful Demonstration of Strategic Insight award for our work with Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) – building the foundations for transformational step change.

Not only that, but we were also highly commended in the Most Powerful Insight Using BI Dashboarding category for our work using InsightHub, with Pancreatic Cancer UK. Plus, we were also highly commended alongside Join the Dots in the Supplier of the Year category.

Congratulations to all those who were nominated, it was wonderful to hear about all the inspirational work that’s been done over the past year using charity data and insight. We’re, of course, extremely proud of our teams and clients for all they’ve achieved!
