Wood for Trees has been invited to speak at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIOF) Fundraising Convention, which takes place 4-6 July 2022. On Tuesday 5th July, 11.45am-12.45pm BST, our MD Jon Kelly and Product Manager Josh Hopkinson will take to the stage at the Barbican in London to inform delegates of the current state of the charity sector, now we’re half way through 2022.
Each year, we release an annual report in January with an overview of the charity sector’s performance and also provide a six-month update. It covers key metrics on income and supporter volumes across key products and channels, as well as a deeper dive into areas such as lifetime value, cross-sell, attrition, profiles and contactability.
In this year’s annual report, we look at trends across the third sector in 2021 and show how these compared to 2020. Plus, we also look back at previous years to understand how events during this time, the Covid-19 pandemic in particular, has impacted the ways supporters are engaging with and donating to charities.
There were many dramatic changes evident at the onset of the pandemic and national lockdowns, with restrictions forcing charities and supporters to adapt many usual, ‘normal’ behaviours. As this has eased in the last year, it’ll be interesting to see what has remained constant, what has returned and how the current fundraising environment appears now compared to pre-pandemic years.
This seminar will:
- Cover main themes and insights from the State of the Sector Report 2022
- Provide an understanding of sector trends and allow fundraisers to put their own results into context, perhaps offering areas of opportunity
- Show up-to-date data from the first half of 2022, to see how the sector is performing so far this year
- Outline examples of two charities that have used this information to adapt and enhance fundraising programmes, with practical tips to take away
